Objectives:
Ss will learn equipment and action terms related to popular sport play.
Ss will learn rules and scoring method of popular spots.
Ss will gain experience playing various popular world sports.
Course description:
Students will learn the names and terms related to popular sports played around the world as well as learn the rules and scoring methods for each of the various sports. During the first period of each class students will learn how to play the game and in the second period students will get to try out playing the sport of the day using the rules and terms learned in the lesson. In this course students learn to play baseball, kickball, basketball, Capture the Flag, volleyball, and various jump rope games. The course will also include a field trip on the MRT to experience public transportation in Taiwan as a capstone from their learning in the previous transportation unit.
Class rules/expectations: Students will listen to the teacher, participate in class activities, be kind, and speak in English whenever possible.
Grading/Evaluation: During activity portion of lesson, students will be informally evaluated based participation and students will periodically complete projects and worksheets for a grade.
